The Convocation Ceremony of Tilak Education Society’s Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research was held with great pride and enthusiasm on 12th April 2025 at the Smt. Sarada Kurup Memorial Hall. The event marked a significant milestone for the graduating batch of 2022-24. The inaugural session included a warm welcome, lighting of the ceremonial lamp, a graceful prayer dance, and renditions of the National Song (Vande Mataram), Maharashtra Rajyageet, and the University Song. Dignitaries were felicitated in this segment, setting a respectful and celebratory tone for the event. Dr. Arun Janardhan, Honourable Director of Tilak Group of Schools and Colleges, delivered an impactful motivational speech, encouraging the graduates to pursue excellence with integrity. The Chief Guest, Dr. Reni Francis from Pillai College of Education & Research, Chembur, addressed the gathering with an inspiring convocation speech, emphasizing the importance of dedication and lifelong learning in the field of education. The highlight of the event was the Conferment of Degrees, where graduates received their hard-earned academic honors. This was followed by the solemn Oath Taking Ceremony, where the graduates pledged their commitment to uphold the values of the teaching profession. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, symbolizing the end of the formal proceedings.The convocation was a memorable celebration of academic achievement, filled with pride, emotion, and inspiration, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of the graduates.
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Cultural Committee organized a series of educational and engaging activities on 11th April at Tilak International School and Junior College. The objective was to raise awareness about Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions to Indian society and promote constitutional values among students.
An interactive awareness session in the form of a skit was presented for the 10th-grade students of Tilak International School. The skit focused on the Fundamental Duties of Indian citizens and was scripted and performed by students of the B.Ed. Through creative dramatization, the performance conveyed powerful messages about civic responsibility, respect for others, and national unity. The session was both educational and entertaining, and it left a lasting impact on the audience.
For the 12th-grade students of Tilak International School and Junior College, a short documentary on the life and legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was screened. The documentary highlighted significant moments in his journey, including his efforts for social justice, his role in drafting the Indian Constitution, and his vision for an inclusive and equitable nation. Following the screening, a quiz competition was conducted based on the content of the documentary, the Indian Constitution, and related values. Students actively participated in the quiz. The quiz aimed to encourage attentive viewing, critical thinking, and reflection among students, and it saw active participation and enthusiasm.
The activities successfully achieved their aim of engaging students in meaningful learning about Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals and the spirit of the Indian Constitution
On March 17, 2025, a placement drive was organized for the students of Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research. The event featured interviews conducted by esteemed institutions offering teaching positions in subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and languages like Marathi and Hindi, for schools and junior colleges affiliated with the different school boards.
The interviews focused on assessing candidates' subject knowledge, teaching methodology, classroom management skills, and communication abilities. Many students from the Second Year B.Ed. program, participated in the drive. The event proved to be highly successful, with several students being shortlisted for the next round of selection, showcasing their skills and readiness for teaching roles.
This placement drive provided a valuable platform for students to demonstrate their potential, with numerous opportunities for securing teaching positions in the future.

Our Annual Sports Meet, inaugurated on 10th January 2025, kicked off with great enthusiasm.
We were privileged to have Ms. Sakshi Rajput, an unbeatable basketball champion, as our chief guest, whose presence inspired everyone.
An E-Waste collection drive was organised by Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research Ghansoli on 23rd November 2024 to sensitise the students about the impact of the E-waste disposal system and its effect on humans and the environment. B.Ed. Students and the staff contributed to the drive.
The B.Ed. curriculum emphasizes the integration of ICT skills, essential for modern education. Recently, Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research hosted Ms. Manisha Chitre from Saket College of Education, Kalyan, who led an engaging session on "EduBlogs: Shaping Your Teaching Journey Through Blogging."
Ms. Chitre highlighted the significance of blogging in education, providing a step-by-step guide on creating and managing blogs. She demonstrated various tools and apps that facilitate effective communication among teachers, parents, and students, thereby enhancing the learning experience.
The practical aspect of the session took place in the computer lab, where students installed blogging applications on both computers and mobile devices. They learned how to create blogs, post comments, and engage in discussion forums.
Students were actively involved throughout the session, asking questions and participating in hands-on activities. The overall experience was enriching, equipping them with valuable skills for their future teaching careers.
On 24th October 2024, F.Y.B.Ed. students of Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research conducted an Electoral Literacy Programme for the students of J.K. College of Science & Commerce. The session covered key topics such as voting rights, registration procedures, the importance of voting, and the differences between Loksabha and Vidhaan Sabha.
Around 45 to 50 students, aged 18 and above, participated enthusiastically, learning about their role as informed voters in the upcoming Vidhaan Sabha elections in Maharashtra. The event successfully raised awareness about the electoral process, promoting informed voter participation.
On 19th October 2024, S.Y.B.Ed. students of Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research hosted a lively Fresher’s Day for the F.Y.B.Ed. batch. The new students were welcomed with personalized bookmarks, chocolates, and songs, creating a warm atmosphere.
The day featured captivating dance performances, fun interactive games, and a thrilling ramp walk judged by faculty. Mr. and Miss Fresher were crowned by the principal, making for memorable moments. The event concluded with sweets and snacks, leaving everyone with lasting memories of fun and camaraderie.
The Student Induction Programme for the First Year B.Ed. students was held on October 1st, 2024 to introduce the new batch to the institution, its culture, and the B.Ed. degree journey. Faculty members provided an overview of the institution's history, mission, and vision, as well as details about the curriculum and assessment methods. Practical aspects, support services, and opportunities for community engagement were also discussed to ensure overall student well-being. An Alumni Interaction session allowed students to learn from former graduates' experiences, while an Entry Level Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test assessed students' cognitive abilities and teaching potential. The programme successfully welcomed and prepared students for their academic and professional journey.
Ganesh Utsav was celebrated by the students on the 14th of September with joy.Students participated in the modak making competition, where they showcased their culinary skills by preparing traditional recipes and presenting them along with their nutritional values to a panel of judges. The participants were evaluated based on specific criteria set by the judges.
In addition to the cooking competition, students also highlighted the significance of celebrating the Ganpati festival through a video presentation. The significance of Eid-E- Milad was also described by the students.The event concluded with the winners being awarded certificates for their outstanding performance.
The celebration successfully combined cultural learning with creative expression, providing an enriching experience for all involved.
The students and staff at Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research celebrated Onam with a lot of excitement and joy. Students showcased their creativity by participating in a floral rangoli competition, creating vibrant and colorful designs. The competition was judged based on specific criteria by the judges.
The celebration kicked off with a warm welcome note, followed by a video highlighting the significance of Onam. The students also mesmerized the audience with a beautiful Thiruvathira Kali dance performance.
At the end of the event, the winners of the floral rangoli competition were honored with certificates for their outstanding creations. Overall, it was a joyous and festive celebration that brought the college community together in the spirit of Onam.
The students of Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research came together to celebrate Hindi Diwas on September 13th. This event highlighted the importance of Hindi as our national language, with students showcasing poems by renowned Hindi poets such as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Harivanshrai Bachchan, and Subhadra Kumari Chauhan. In addition, a book review on "Kafan" by Munshi Premchand was conducted to delve deeper into Hindi literature.
To further enhance their understanding of the language, a quiz on Hindi was organized for the students. The event also featured a video explaining why September 14th was chosen as Hindi Diwas. It was a day filled with cultural enrichment and appreciation for the language that unites us as a nation.
Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research is dedicated to upholding the esteemed practice of 'Arogyam Dhana Sampada', which emphasizes the importance of nutrition and well-being.
Recently, the students and staff of Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research observed 'Nutrition Week' from September 2nd to September 6th. Throughout the week, students participated in various activities aimed at promoting healthy eating habits. One of the highlights of the week was the creation of nutritious tiffin boxes by students, showcasing a variety of balanced meals and snacks. These tiffins served as examples of simple and delicious ways to incorporate essential nutrients into daily diets.
In addition, students from the science club organized a special assembly and delivered informative presentations using multimedia tools to educate their peers on the significance of nutrition and making informed dietary choices. Slogans were also shared by the students. By combining hands-on food preparation with engaging presentations, students successfully raised awareness about the benefits of healthy eating and encouraged their classmates to adopt healthier lifestyles. This initiative not only instilled a sense of personal responsibility for well-being but also emphasized the pivotal role nutrition plays in overall health and wellness.
Every year on July 28th, World Nature Conservation Day acknowledges that the foundation for a healthy society is a healthy environment. It’s also a day to increase awareness about the importance of protecting our natural resources. In order to raise awareness among students about nature, Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research organized a field visit to the Coastal and Marine Biodiversity Centre in Airoli on July 29th. During the visit, students had the opportunity to learn about marine life, mangroves, flamingos, and the interconnectedness of each marine species. The field visit provided students with a learning experience, allowing them to see the importance of preserving our coastal and marine ecosystems. They were able to witness the delicate balance of nature and how each species plays a crucial role in maintaining the health of the ecosystem. Students learned about the threats facing our coastal and marine biodiversity, such as pollution, habitat destruction, and overfishing. They also gained insight into the conservation efforts being made to protect these fragile ecosystems for future generations. Overall, the field visit was not only educational but also inspiring, as it motivated students to take action and become stewards of our environment.
On July 24th, students and faculty came together to honor the memory of the late Smt. Sarada Kurup, the founder secretary of Tilak Education Society. Students engaged in various meaningful activities at the internship school to commemorate the legacy of late Sarada maam.
At Tilak Global School, students paid their tribute in the morning and planted flower plants in the garden in memory of our founder secretary. Meanwhile, students interning at Tilak International School organized a health and hygiene session for primary students. At Tilak Junior College, students held essay competitions for students. Additionally, students at Anchorwala Education Academy hosted a debate and quiz for secondary students focusing on values.
The day was filled with meaningful activities that allowed students to honor the legacy of Smt. Sarada Kurup.

Earth Day is observed worldwide to promote activities to protect the Earth and its resources. This year's Earth Day theme, “Planet vs. Plastics,” brings attention to the serious issue of plastic pollution and how it harms nature.
In light of the theme for 2024, students at Sarada Kurup College chose to commemorate Earth Day by focusing on the principles of the 3 R's: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. To promote these ideals, the students organized a competition centered around creating reusable paper bags. Additionally, in an effort to emphasize the importance of recycling, the students gathered e-waste to be donated for proper disposal. Furthermore, the students pledged to minimize their use of plastic as a way to reduce their environmental impact.
In an effort to foster environmental awareness and hands- on experiences, the students FY and SY B.Ed. students embarked on a unique initiative by planting herbal plants in a dedicated garden space on 18-01-24. This practical and holistic approach aimed to integrate sustainability, biology and education, providing students with a deeper understanding of ecological principles and the benefits of herbal plants.
The annual sports for the academic year 2023-24 was conducted from 21st to 23rd December 2023. Indoor games like chess and carrom were conducted on 21st. The outdoor games, shot put, discus throw and badminton were conducted on 22nd. Funny games like book balancing and needle and thread also conducted to maximize the students participation.The annual sports kicked off with an extravaganza, featuring a spectacular opening ceremony by the chief guest Mr. Kamlesh Pradhan an eminent sportsman that set the stage for intense competition. Students showcased their athletic skills with their performances. The grand finale unfolded with award ceremonies, which were met with expression of joy and reflective moments.
Tilak Education Society's aim of building a Robotics lab is to provide an environment where students can engage in hands-on learning. It will enrich the educational experience of the students, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities in a technology driven world while nurturing essential skills and knowledge.
The robotics lab is complete with an array of software and hardware and is equipped with 3D printers, providing support for creative expression. Additionally, the lab features an interactive arena where students can actively engage themselves in showing off their creative work.
Students of F.Y.B.Ed. presented topics on various school subjects through activity method of teaching as part of an activity to understand the topic- Activity method given by Mahatma Gandhi from Knowledge and Curriculum subject.
Students enjoyed presenting their topics through games, role play, demonstration etc. and learned through peer and teacher feedback.
The Student Council Election was conducted on December 9, 2023, Saturday with the aim to elect representatives who would advocate for student interests and contribute to the overall development. The Elections were held for the following posts-General Secretary, Cultural co-ordinator, Magazine & board in charge, photography in charge, Community service in charge, picnic & sports in charge.
The names of the candidates for the respective posts were given by the student teachers. Accordingly, the campaigning was done before the elections. The candidates campaigned with their full capacity and assurances to gain the maximum votes for themselves.
After the campaigning, a fair and transparent election was conducted where student teachers one by one casted their vote in the ballot box. After voting, the ballot box was open in front of students and the votes were counted and the number of votes were documented on the board to ensure accuracy and transparency. The elected members of the student council took the oath.
Induction programme and freshers party for the batch 2023-25 was conducted on 04-11-23 (Saturday). The students were oriented about the college and rules and regulations to be followed.A brief orientation of syllabus was also done. Principal, Dr. Pradhan also interacted with the new students giving them insight of the B.Ed. curriculum.
During the freshers party, S.Y.B.Ed. students performed welcome dance for the new batch and also made them play fun games. The talent hunt was also conducted where new students introduced themselves on the stage in the first round. In the second round they were asked to perform anything of their interest. The program concluded with the vote of thanks.
Cleanliness is next to Godliness.” It is the mantra of Mahatma Gandhiji, Father of Nation. He demonstrated, propagated and insisted for individual and community cleanliness throughout his life. Following his footprints, Swachh Bharat Mission campaign achieved encouraging results. This vision will be translated into action by bringing participation for cleaning Tilak Education Society’s Campus. B.Ed 2023-24 batch students started cleanliness drive of the campus to keep surrounding clean.
The students of Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research conducted the clean campus day on 02-10-2023. The program started around 1:00 p.m. and all the students gathered for the event. The event was a huge success and all the students performed with great enthusiasm and keeping their own sanitation in mind used masks and gloves during this whole process.

Guru Purnima is the day to offer salutations to the gurus though they are the ones who nurture students, preparing them to take on the numerous tasks of steering our country in future time. Keeping with the tradition of revering gurus for their invaluable contribution in shaping the minds and characters of the young people in their charge, Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research Ghansoli, celebrated the occasion on 01st July 2023. Storytelling and Poster with Slogan competitions were held as part of the occasion. Eight students were participated in poster making and 4 students were there in storytelling. Students prepared wonderful posters with slogan related to gurus. Competitions had been judged by the professors. Active participation of the students added glory to the event.
Yoga is an invaluable gift from the ancient Indian culture. Every year on June 21, International Yoga Day is observed to raise awareness of the important health benefits of practicing yoga. “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” is the theme for International Yoga Day 2023.
The farewell party was hosted by the FY B. Ed students for the Senior students on 13th May 2023. . The event was made special by welcoming them wholeheartedly and an assortment of songs, dance, games gifts were presented to them. The SY students also shared their heartfelt experiences and their journey of being a student teacher.
Maharashtra Day was celebrated with great pride, the students took this opportunity to conduct an Elocution competition on topics that reflected on Maharashtra’s rich history, culture and contributions to the nation on 2nd May 2023. They also played some traditional games like fugdi and zimma.
The students were taken on an excursion to Pine Wood Resort on 27th April 2023. They had a joyful experience, playing water games, archery, rope climbing.
Marathi Language Day is celebrated on February '27' every year across the Indian states of Maharashtra. This day is regulated by the State Government. It is celebrated on Birthday of eminent Marathi Senior poet Kusumagraj. V.V. Shirwadkar (Kusumagraj) has made significant contribution in the cultural field of Maharashtra and tireless efforts have been made to make Marathi the language of knowledge.
The main focus of the celebration was to promote the Maharashtrian culture amongst the student of Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research the function began with the Sarasvati vandana and started with the introduction along with the PPT on “Marathi Raj Bhasha Diwas” students participated in the poem recitation many of the students recited poems of Kusumagraj. In which our teachers as well as our principal were the judges. Followed by a Quiz competition which had many question related to basic Marathi language. It turned out to be a very interactive session as our main motive was to make everyone speak the Marathi language along with enjoyment the whole function turned out very informative, interesting and fruitful. This function was take a note with a wonderful vote of thanks.
2022-2023
The Annual day Avahan 2022-23 was celebrated with all its grandeur and beauty. The students magnificently put up a dance spectacle on the theme ‘Euphoria of Eras’ covering the Stone Age, Kingdom, Pre- independence, present and Future eras. The program concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. The star performers of the college were awarded trophies and certificates.
The Annual Sports Day is an important event in the life of a student. The students participated in both the indoor and outdoor events, and exuberated great team spirit and sportsmanship.
The purpose of Fresher’s Party is to welcome new students in a friendly atmosphere and to encourage their creative impulses to boost their confidence. It is the day where seniors and juniors finally bond and unite to celebrate being part of the college. Students of First Year (batch:2022-24)- B.Ed. were welcomed with a Freshers party, which was organized by S.Y B.Ed. students in the Multi-purpose hall. The program started with lamp lighting and inaugural speech by Honourable Principal, Dr. Snigdha Pradhan, followed by the course orientation for the freshers. The program was hosted by Ms. Nisha Balakrishnan and Ms. Mamta Vijay from S.Y B.Ed. followed by a welcome dance .The senior students planned amazing activities that were relatable and funny. It began with a modelling contest to crown the Mr. Fresher and Miss.Fresher which served as a good platform for some students to overcome their fears. This was one of the challenging rounds as they had to showcase their skills of performing arts including dance, mimicry, stand-up comedy or a song. Ms. Prachi Khandekar and Mr. Saddam Mansuri were selected as Ms. Fresher and Mr. Fresher respectively.
The students and faculty of Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research observed the Foundation Day on 21st September 2022 with great enthusiasm.
As a mark of respect and to honour the founders of Tilak Education Society, we made it a point to spend qualitative time with students of Apni Shala an NGO which caters to the children of low income.
Apni Shala Foundation is located at Chembur East collaborates with government and low fee schools and works towards the social and emotional development of a child.
They deliver experiential learning program using art, drama, games and community work to help nurture social and emotional skills in children. The teachers use stories and drama and films and games as tools to engage children in experiential learning.
Therefore, in the same lines our students paired as teachers for the day. They engaged the students in interesting math games, making friendship bands, singing songs, colourful dances, conversations interactions and fun games. We made the children smile and feel special.
At the end of this lovely and satisfying day, we parted the children by distributing chocolates and gifted them different types of board games as an expression of our love for them.

Keeping with the tradition of revering gurus for their invaluable contribution in shaping the minds and characters of the young people in their charge, S. K. College of Education and Research Ghansoli, celebrated the occasion on 13th July, 2022. In the function the students felicitated their teachers with a rose and conveying their gratitude. The F.Y. B. Ed students prepared and presented a speech which showed the significance of "Guru Purnima" and Guru in everyone’s life.
“Yoga heals our mind, body and soul hence it won’t be wrong to say that this healthy practice helps to maintain sanity in our day-to-day life”. To mark its importance, International Day of Yoga is celebrated every year on 21st June.
As part of the celebration, a live yoga session was conducted at Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research, Ghansoli in the conference Hall. The theme for the day was “Yoga for Humanity”.
The convocation ceremony was held to confer degree certificates to the students of the academic year 2019-21. Each and every student was congratulated for their achievement on embarking into the teaching career and join the teaching fraternity.
The election to the student council was held following a proper procedure of campaigning, voting and selection of candidates for the various posts.
Convocation ceremony of Batch 2018-20 students was conducted virtually this year due to pandemic Covid-19. All Staff, students and Principal attended online convocation ceremony from their house. Juniors initiated the program by singing prayers & university song and conducted cultural program for their seniors.
The foundation day is a special day, when the institution reflects not only on the beginnings, of the college and founders, but also on the significant development since the college’s inception. We celebrated this day offering qualitative time with orphaned children at Jan Vikas Society Mermier Bal Ashram, Kopar khairne . Our students also participated in a blood donation drive to honour the day.

Education excursions not only enhance the knowledge of the students but also broaden their outlook towards the outside world. This year we took a trip to Shivganga Waterpark and botanical garden which was a combination of entertainment and learning.
The Annual Day function is a cultural extravagance .The event unfolded beautifully with a prayer dance invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesh, followed by an exceptional dance performed by the students on the theme Navras that enthralled the audience. The performance reflected the different emotions shared between a teacher and his/her student. This day, we also, honoured our star performers.
The convocation ceremony was held to conferred degrees to the students. The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Shri. Arun J Kurup, Secretary and Director of Tilak Education Society as well as other eminent Guests to Honour were present. Each dignitary took turns to confer degrees on the students which was followed by a speech by the Chief Guest.
