The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research in collaboration with Tilak International School and Tilak Global School. The event commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by a march past by the school students and a cultural program. The student teachers also performed a patriotic song, adding to the spirit of the celebration.
On National Science Day, i.e. 28th February 2024 students of Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research embarked on an enriching visit to the prestigious Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education.
The visit aimed to foster a deeper understanding of scientific research and innovation among the future educators and researchers of the institution. The students were greeted with enthusiasm and guided through various exhibits and interactive sessions, shedding light on the legacy of Dr. Homi Bhabha and his contributions to India's scientific advancement.
The Republic day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour. The programme was hosted by Tilak International School, Tilak Global School and Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research .The day was filled with outstanding performances by the school and B. Ed students. our students participated in the celebration by singing a patriotic song and a speech presentation in Marathi on the 'importance of the constitution '.
15th August is a day of immense Pride and Joy for all Indians. To mark the occasion of the Independence Day, Tilak Education Society’s Tilak International School and Junior College, Tilak Global School and Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research, Ghansoli together celebrated the same with great pride and splendour. The Flag was hoisted by Dr. Arun Janardhan (Director of Tilak Education Society). The programme was presided by the Chief Guest Ms. Annamma Varghese (Principal, Tilak Junior College Vashi) and Mr. Suresh Pillai (Registrar, Tilak Education Society), Dr. Snigdha Pradhan (Principal, Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research, Ms. Parul Mahajan (Principal, Tilak International school, Ghansoli) Ms. Angela Almeida (Principal, Tilak Global School) Ms. Manisha Panhalkar (Vice Principal, Tilak International School, Ghansoli) and Faculty members and students participated in the function. A Rangoli Making Competition was held as part of the celebration. A Cultural programme was hosted by the students from all the sections. Student teachers from Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research performed a Mime Act named “Timeline of Independent India” which depicted a chronology of events on important movements of independent India. It was appreciated by the all the dignitaries. A speech was given by the chief guest to pay homage to the brave martyrs of the country. The programme ended with playing the National song (Vande Mataram).
Republic Day was celebrated. Students assembled on the ground and gathered together to sing a medley of patriotic songs which touched the hearts of everyone over there.
“The Future depends on what we do in the present”: Mahatma Gandhi
Gandhism is a body of ideas that describes inspiration, vision and the life work of M.K. Gandhi. It is particularly associated with his contribution to the idea of non-violent resistance, sometimes also called civil resistance. Keeping this philosophy in mind, Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research, Ghansoli organised an Inter- Collegiate “Essay Writing Competition” for student teachers on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The entries for the competition were called from 25th September to 2nd October. The various themes for the essay were:
1. Educational Philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi “a synthesis of Idealism, Naturalism and Pragmatism”
2. Character Development through inculcation of Gandhian values, a necessity in the 21st century.
3. Gandhian Perspective “Experiential Learning; Need of the hour”
A total of fifteen essays were received from different B.Ed. colleges. Each entry was carefully evaluated in accordance with the criteria given . The winners are:
1st Position: Zainab Moiz Badani All India Khilafat Committee Education, College.
Topic – Character Development through inculcation of Gandhian values, a necessity in the 21st Century.
2nd Position: Shruti Gajanan Janaskar, Thakur shyamnarayan college of education and research
Topic: Educational philosophy of mahatma Gandhi “A synthesis of Idealism, Naturalism and Pragmatism”.
3rd Position: Priya Pandey, Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Education.
Topic: Educational philosophy of mahatma Gandhi “A synthesis of Idealism, Naturalism and Pragmatism”.

15th August 2022, We Celebrates 75th year of Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) to commemorate its freedom. 15th August is a day of immense Pride and Joy for all Indians. S. K. College of Education & Research, Ghansoli celebrated 76th Independence Day of our nation with great pride and splendour as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign. Our B. Ed. Student-Teachers conducted a Flag making activity on 13th August, 2022 and distributed Tri Colour Flag in local buildings. A Rangoli Making Competition was also conducted as part of the celebration among the students. In the morning of the Independence Day, Hon. Secretary and Director of Tilak Education Society’s Dr. Arun J. Kurup hoisted the National Flag and accepted the salute and guard of honour.
Cultural programme was arranged as a part of the Independence Day celebration. Students of our B. Ed. college performed a Drama named “Atulya Bharat” which was dedicated to our brave Freedom Fighters. The programme ended with playing the National song (Vande Matram).
This year, students celebrated Independence Day virtually. The event was started with a small prayer and explained the significance of this auspicious day. Students sang poems and patriotic song which was followed by state wise representation where students dressed up in the regional attire performed poems and dances. An overview about the Indian culture and heritage was explained through ppt presentation. The students also cooked tricolored dishes. One of the student played National Anthem on flute. The event was concluded by singing the National Anthem.
Our College celebrated Independence Day, with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The event started with the hoisting of the flag, followed by students singing patriotic songs, a speech and a quiz game on India.
Teacher’s Day, was made very special by both the management and students. There was a panel discussion on the topic, “ Existing Education System in India” by the faculty members. The students organized interesting games and shared words of appreciation for the teachers.
Christmas brings cheer and love, in the environment, spreading the message, of love and joy. In keeping the spirit of the season, our students presented a skit on the nativity, followed by singing carols and distribution of sweets, by a cheerful Santa Claus.
