 WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT CELL 

In response to the Vishaka Judgement passes by the Supreme Court in 1997, the University of Mumbai set up University Women Development Cell in 2001 and also directed to all its affiliated colleges to setup a “Women Development Cell” at college level. The aim of this cell is to prevent sexual harassment, promote wellbeing of all female students and staff members for creating a gender sensitized community within the campus and as well as in the society.

Objective:

• To promote an environment of Gender Equality.

• To provide forum for the redressal of complaints related to gender discrimination and sexual harassment at the workplace.

• To organize events, workshops and programs on gender amity and women’s welfare.
