On 28th October, the students of Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research celebrated Diwali with enthusiasm and creativity by organizing a vibrant Diwali Mela on the college premises. The event was a joyful gathering where students showcased their culinary and artistic skills through various food and craft stalls, infusing the campus with the festive spirit.
The food stalls were a major attraction, offering a delicious array of items such as paani puri, sev puri, gajar halwa, shankarpali, kurkure chaat, kachori, and pasta. Each dish was prepared with care, ensuring a blend of hygiene and authentic taste, making them crowd favorites. The craft stalls, equally engaging, displayed an array of colourful diyas, hand-painted items, candles, and accessories, all beautifully arranged and capturing the essence of Diwali.
In addition to food and crafts, the students set up an exciting games stall where a variety of fun-filled games kept everyone entertained. These games, alongside the nominal prices for all items, made the mela accessible and enjoyable for everyone, attracting students and staff alike from the Tilak Education Society, Ghansoli campus.
The event was not just about celebration; it also provided students a unique opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship and customer interaction as they gained experience in managing stalls, setting prices, and handling transactions. The profits earned added a sense of accomplishment and joy to the festivities, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved. The Diwali Mela truly embodied the festive spirit of togetherness, creativity, and fun at Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research.
On 11th October 2024, Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research celebrated Navratri and Dussehra with great enthusiasm. The event began with a lamp lighting ceremony and aarti, followed by a tribute to the late Sir J.D. Ratan Tata, with a two-minute silence and a video on his remarkable life.
The significance of Navratri's nine colors and their cultural values were discussed, with students linking them to NEP 2020 and its focus on inclusive education. A presentation on Dussehra celebrations across India showcased the country's rich diversity. The day ended with lively garba dancing, bringing together staff and students in a joyful celebration of unity and tradition.
Welcome December it's the Christmas season: The students of Sarada Kurup college of Education & Research unfolded the afternoon with a vibrant introduction on the importance of Christmas Eve and a tableau portraying the sacred Nativity scene.The air resonated with harmonious melodies as the college choir for an enchanting session of Carol singing following by the excitement of students eagerly participating in the secret santa tradition, exchanging mystery gifts and spreading festive surprises. The atmosphere was this magical with expression of love and laughter of the festive season and wishing each other to ring in the new year.
Students of Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research celebrated Diwali with full enthusiasm on 9th November. S.Y.B.Ed. students along with newly joined F.Y.B.Ed. participated in various competitions and the competitions were judged by our alumni Ms. Ankita Waghmare and Alfiya Solkar.
On 21st of October students and staff of Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research celebrated Navratri in the auditorium of college. The students were dressed in beautiful traditional attire. The programme began with the aarti and distribution of prasad. Ms.Reshma, student of S Y.B.Ed explained the importance of nine days of Navratri. The students enthusiastically performed garba.
GUDI PADWA CELEBRATION
There was a Gudi making competition on 21st March 2023 on the eve of Gudi Padwa, to ring in the new year and also wishing each other a prosperous and successful life.
Celebration of different festivals is the best way to unite and practice cultural and religious diversity. Thus, setting a mark of Christmas Day celebration was an applauding initiative by the student teachers of Sarada Kurup College of Education & Research.
It began with a Carol singing followed by a skit on the birth of Jesus Christ, debriefing the values and messages that it carries. The theme colour for the day was red or white with Christmas caps worn by each one.
A pre-planned game of ‘Secret Santa’ was also played among the students on this day to show their care, love and affection towards their friends. This re- established the idea of being a secret angel for mankind at large.
Diwali is an occasion to celebrate victory over defeat, light over darkness, awareness over ignorance, an occasion to celebrate life”.
Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research, Ghansoli celebrated Diwali on 15th October, 2022 as a memorable event. Various competitions were organised for student teachers on the theme of Diwali. The student teachers participated in different competitions like Rangoli making, sweet making, Diya decoration, Candle decoration, Mehndi and Nail art with great enthusiasm.
Post Competition session there was a presentation by student teachers which covered various topics associated with Diwali such as stories and importance, values and the way Diwali is celebrated in different region of the country.
Navratri brings people together from all over the country and symbolizes diversity and culture.
Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research celebrated Navratri festival on 1st October 2022 as a memorable event. A cultural programme was organised on account of the same.
The programme started with an Aarti of Goddess Durga followed by a presentation which consisted of the significance of Navratri festival, nine incarnation of Devi and its importance and how Navratri is celebrated in different states of India. Then the students enticed the audience with the traditional garba dance in a grand way. They danced the tunes of Garba music in beautiful traditional attire.
On this day students also received certificates for various competitions, that had been held through the course of the year by the principal. The students were selected for the best traditional garba dance and attire.
At the end of the programme, Principal acknowledged about the importance of Navratri celebration. All of them celebrated the day with joy and cheer.
Festivals are the time of happiness and togetherness. It is beyond any age and religion. Onam and Ganeshotsav celebrations were held by student teachers of Sarada Kurup College of Education and Research, Ghansoli on 07th September 2022 as a memorable event at Auditorium. A cultural programme and competitions were conducted on account of the same.
In the preparation stage, the student teachers were divided in to groups for the participation in different competitions. Competitions including Athapookkalam (Floral Rangoli- Group wise) and Traditional Sweet Dish Making (Individual) were decided as part of the celebration. The student teachers set attractive floral decorations (pookalam) in the corridor. Impressive designs were the hallmarks of the Pookalam. Total seven groups participated in the competition. A traditional sweet making competition was also organised in the auditorium. Fourteen student teachers participated for the same, for which they were asked to make and present any traditional sweet of their choice. The student teachers showcased their cooking talents with creativity and innovation. The various sweet dishes were Chocolate Modak, Lapsi Kheer, Dry-fruits Laddu, Ghati ,Rasmalai, Boiled Modak, Sabudana Kheer, Phirni, Milk cake, Seviyan Kheer, Puran Poli, Methi Ladoo, Sheera, Rice Kheer which won the hearts of the judges. After the competitions, there was a cultural programme to celebrate Onam. The students and faculties looked fabulous in the traditional onam attire .They performed Thiruvathira, the cultural dance of Kerala followed by a traditional ramp walk. Dr. Snigdha Pradhan, Principal, conveyed greetings and wishes of the festival. She appreciated everyone for making the programme a memorable one. The program came to an end at 4:00 pm with an official vote of thanks. Through the programme, the student teachers displayed respect towards each other’s tradition and made each and every festival of India a more special one.
The new year was welcomed by conducting a Gudi Making Competition where students made colorful Gudis’. Students celebrated the day with great enthusiasm.
Makar Sankranti celebration
Dusshera was celebrated with great joy and reverence. The festivity began, by welcoming the goddess with a prayer song, followed by a traditional garba dance, paying obeisance to the mother of strength and knowledge.
This year the festival of lights, Diwali was celebrated with fresh wave of patriotism. Students participated in a poster and collage competition on the theme patriotic Diwali which also signifies the theme of Diwali the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.
Onam is the harvest festival, that celebrates the reward of nature, after a year of hard work. Our students celebrated onam, with great gusto. The students welcomed King Mahabali with a floral rangoli and performed the traditional Kai Kooti Kali dance. The students also participated in a sweet dish and decoration competition which successfully brought the flavour of Kerala to our plates.
With protection of Environment gaining precedence as the days go by, our students of celebrated the festival of Holi in an environment positive but enjoyable manner! This year our students celebrated Holi by hosting a food carnival for the students, teaching faculty and non-teaching faculty.
The students celebrated the Hindi Diwas ,by listening to a talk given by Dr Sarika Chote, who highlighted the ‘significance of the language in the modern area’. Our students also participated in a panel discussion on the importance of Hindi at Akbar Peerbhoy college of Education.
